Earlier in the week Elizabeth mentioned she had an art concept she wanted to explore using oils. I took the idea and ran with it by signing us up for a private painting class at a local studio. We were not allowed to look at each others paintings until the end.
The art instructor and a photographer were both in on the proposal
I told her I was painting this photo of a jellyfish that Elizabeth took when we were scuba diving in the Caymans
Instead, I was doing my best to paint the ring I was about to give her. I don’t think I had painted since grade school.
Art instructor helping me put the finishing touches on my ‘jellyfish’
Coincidently, Elizabeth decided to paint a red herring on a plate – very appropriate for the occasion.
She’s a much better artist than I am.
Finished the paintings… we take a look Elizabeth’s first
Now it’s time for me to show her my ‘jelly fish’
Instead she sees this
And I’m down on one knee by the time she turns around
Finally she said ‘Yes!’
